Lowell car show

     Seven of the ClassiX members entered their cars in the annual Lowell car show and three of them received recognition as Top 10 winners.  Jim won with his 32 Ford Roadster, Fred with his 47 Chevy custom and Paul also picked up a plaque for his 48 Ford coupe.  Congrats to all!

St Ignace and new members

     Ten ClassiX cars made the trip to St. Ignace this year for the annual car show and to get away from city life for a while.  Rick drove up on Monday.  Jim, Fred & Janet arrived on Tuesday.  Pete, Mark, Paul & Sharon, Jon, Bob & Stacy and Ron & Teresa rolled in on Wednesday.  Last to arrive on Thursday were new club members Dave & Vickie Wiedlund.  We all had another great time at the Northernaire Motel on the north end of town.  And the cruising through town was non-stop until the show on Saturday.  Bob Jenema won the NSRA Safety Pick with his beautiful 1964 Chevelle Malibu SS for the only award within the club.  The Wiedlunds continued their northern Michigan vacation after the rest of the crew headed home on Sunday.  They noticed a vibration while in Traverse City and contacted our Northern Michigan NSRA Rep and Fellow Pages listing, Fred Bottomley.  Fred was able to diagnose a bad U-joint and the problem was repaired on Monday so Dave & Vickie could continue their vacation.  Reservations are already in place for next year!

Super Chevy weekend

     Super Chevy holds a drag race and car show event each year at US131 Motorsports Park in Martin, Michigan.  This year, the CSRA had 4 cars in attendance on Saturday and an additional three cars on Sunday.  Out of the 7 cars, new member Jim Moon won Outstanding recognition for his beautiful 55 Chevy.  Paul & Sharon Dishaw, Fred & Janet Clark and Jon Hansen all won Best in Class as well as Best in Category awards.  All received plaques and the three class winners also received a new Super Chevy jacket in red and gray.  Jon had a special surprise on Saturday when he and his 1934 Vicky were chosen for a TV interview from the Super Chevy video crew.  The segment is supposed to air in early October on the Velocity Channel.  Here's some pictures of our cars at Super Chevy.

New member!

We recently added a new member to the CSRA. Jim Moon has a beautiful 55 Chevy BelAir that he picked up late last year from Minnesota.  Over the winter, Jim had the car totally updated with a new 383 cubic inch small block engine, 700R4 overdrive transmission, a fresh paint job, lowered the front suspension and added a 4 link rear suspension with coil over shocks!  A new headliner spiffed up the interior too.  Sweet ride, Jim, and welcome to the club.

Show Time!

As we get closer to Spring, folks start planning their shows and cruise in plans for the coming summer.  We'd like to once again invite everyone to join us for the 3rd Annual Kathy Weed Memorial Safety Inspection.  Once again this year, this will be a National Street Rod Association (NSRA) Appreciation Day.  Join us for a free lunch, free door prizes, and a Chinese auction to raise Bucks for Pam Burmania.  Check out the flyer for details.
